Topic: My Jerry thoughts and wonders
Ugh.. I'm obsessed with the seires now, I really am... Rather than be crazy-unbearable annoying and make a billion differnt threads, I'm going to be crazy annoying and just make one....
These are thoughts, questions, and unrelated trail-offs that have swirling in my head over and over... I need to get them out! So this is going to be the first and last time I directly start a conversation about the Jerry seires.
How did Jerry get to where he began at the beginning of the first short?
--- There is a huge gap of approx 22-28 years between Jerry and the Closet and Jerry.
Does the moon have a deeper personal meaning for Jerry, beyond a staple in the original episode that can be related to both at the start and the end?
--- I think the purpose of the moon in the Jerry seires is to signify when a character contemplates the future. In Jerry, he first looks at the moon with optimism, but its crushed by the end of the film. In Jackie, although she begins to stare deep into it during a moment of personal emptiness, she steps back in the middle, as her addiction for drugs fills that void and acts as her staple. Jerry found no staple, nothing he could hold on to throughout his life, so he killed himself. Perhaps the moon was this staple, this object he could always turn to at any point in his life. There is nothing present in both "Little Jerry and the Closet" and "Jerry" that would suggest there is something dear to Jerry he's held onto whilst he's grown up.
Who is "2nd woman from original" and what is her story before she meets Jerry?
--- Obvious question, with a billion related obvious questions I cant be bothered to write.
How did Jerry meet "2nd woman from original"?
--- Before "2nd woman from original" appears, we cut from the supermarket, and not from the car, which would suggest Jerry met her downtown, however he then drives to work the next day... Either "2nd woman from original" drove them home after they met downtown, or this is a continuity error.
What happens to "2nd woman from original" after she meets Jerry and before she returns with Junior?
--- The biggest obvious question I guess
What happened during the moment of Jerry's death?
--- Did he hesitate? Did he have final thoughts? Did "2nd woman from original" know? I guess thats a question thats intended to be left unanswered.
What was done with Jerry's corpse after his death?
--- Between the beginning of Junior, and when he bounces on the bed 6 years later, Jerry's corpse is gone.
Who is Jerry's biological mother?
--- We briefly see her in Junior.
Is the woman pictured in Junior Jerry's biological mother?
--- Again, nothing implied, there is just a woman in a picture. Might not even be the real mother.
The house seen at the start of Little Jerry and the Closet is differnt to the one seen in Junior. Yet both houses have a haunted closet.
--- Continuity error, has got to be. If not, Grandpa keeps something terrible in the closet, which he then took to the new house. My guess is its the corpse of Jerry's true biological mother.
Why did Jerrys parents divorce?
--- Jerry is at the same age as when his photo album picture was taken. So if the mother pictured is not his biological mother, then this isn't really a truly devistating divorce. Still, what happened?
Who is Jerry's foster parents?
--- Another biggy, part of the missing years I guess.
Who was the "last little boy" to look into the closet?
--- I think this was just for the purposes of writing, unless Jerry had a younger brother, who then died from shock upon seeing his dead mother..... His corpse could also be kept within the closet.
Jerry's door is fully closed at the start and end of Jackie, but is ajar at the start of Junior
--- I think "2nd woman from original" will open the door, then leave it ajar if she appears in a cartoon.
Who is Junior's mother?
--- I think there is a chance "2nd woman from original" could not be Junior's mother, as it is never stated or implied. She just appears with a child. He could be adopted, found, or passed on from a partner who left her. "2nd woman from original" refers to Junior as his "Mom", but this could just be the act of a socially responsible parent rather than a loving one. I think Junior is Jerrys son, as its originally confirmed in Junior by Grandpa, and memories of Jerry are shared which both characters relate to. Although it is implied that Junior is possibly Jackies Son in Junior, I initially didn't think it was true. We would have seen this in the Jackie short. Then again, watching back, we do cut to "months" later... If it is true, then during these missing months, Jackie must have searched for Jerry to somehow find "2nd woman from original", when she then dumps the kid with a note or something.
Is there not anything good in the world that Jerry left behind after he died?
--- Maybe, Jerry left a suicide note which influenced choices in life "2nd woman from original" makes after his death. However Jackie searched his body before she left the house. Perhaps its in his other trouser pocket, or inside top pocket? Yeah I can dream.
Really I ought to count the flashes in the original to make more sense of things, but that would be going too deep.
